About Me

There’s more to photography as an art than the technical aspects. Anyone can shoot conventional portraits if they have the gear. Not everyone can capture the moment and the feeling of that moment. While many photographers are caught up in getting the technical aspects right, they either miss the crucial moments altogether, or they never even bother looking for them. From my decades of experience in sketching and fine art, it’s less about the “proper” lighting, and more about using creative lighting to convey the mood or feeling. It’s important to learn the technical stuff, so you can learn how to play around with it and create the effect or feel you want.  My aim is to step beyond the technical, and step into the creative....to step outside the lines, because that is where creativity happens. I want to push beyond the ordinary, and capture what lies inside, because ordinary doesn't stand out from the crowd.
